FABULOUS LINGERIE DESIGNED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN CLIMATE
Thousand Dancers’ beautiful, handcrafted designs are unlike any other. Launched in September 2009 by designer Marni Franks the range is inspired by Patti Smith and the independent spirit of the 1970s, it is flower power meets rock chic in underwear made for showing off.
The range is designed for the Australian climate concentrating on natural fibres like silk and cotton printed in Australia.
Although still fresh on the market, Thousand Dancers is steadily growing a dedicated following due to its unique style and unreserved use of colour and print.
All prints are designed exclusively for Thousand Dancers by Marni
MARNI FRANKS
Marni Franks simultaneously completed a MA in textile design from the College of Fine Art, Sydney and launched Thousand Dancers Lingerie in 2009.
Marni began her design life as a graphic designer in Brisbane, Australia before her obsession with lingerie and textiles saw her relocate to Melbourne to design for boutique lingerie label, Sabi Lingerie and then to Sydney to design for underwear giant Bonds Underwear, Pacific Brands. Marni has now returned to her hometown of Brisbane to build the Thousand Dancers brand.
Her training has provided the freedom to experiment with hand crafted techniques to create the printed textiles featured in the range, while her experience with both boutique and mass market lingerie design has developed a solid understanding of lingerie construction and fit.
